The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles- Character Add-On Deck Review

PZO6011

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles- Character Add-On Deck is published by Paizo Publishing. It adds 3 new classes to the base game- alchemist, witch and warpriest. It also brings in the druid from the Rise of the Runelords game. This also makes it possible to play the base game with 5 or 6 players. There are lots of extra monsters, spells, blessings, allies and items included.

For how to play, check out the base game review here.

COMPONENTS
This expansion adds 110 cards to the base set. Just like the base game, the artwork is phenomenal. The theme flows through these cards just like it does in the base set. Again, these look great. I really love the new witch and alchemist characters. Also it’s nice to see the familiar face of the druid as well. I really like what this adds to the base game.

RULEBOOK
There is no rulebook included with this expansion. All rules needed to play are provided in the base game.

GAMEPLAY
Just like in the base game, these characters are a lot of fun to play. I’m very happy that my favorite character the druid, made a reappearance. The extra cards provide lots of new things for your characters to explore and many new monsters to fight. This adds quite a bit of content to an already great game. I very much enjoy this addition.

OVERALL
The Character Add-On Deck is a must have addition. If you are going to purchase the core set of Skull & Shackles, you owe it to yourself to get this along with it. It doesn’t matter if you decide to play it solo with a group of 5 friends, it’s worth having. As a matter of fact, it’s the only way that you will be able to play the game with more than 4 players. I very highly recommended that you get this. It is definitely worth it.
