The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles- Island of Empty Eyes Adventure Deck Review

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles- Island of Empty Eyes Adventure Deck is published by Paizo Publishing. It adds new villains, monsters, items, locations and more. It also adds 5 new scenarios that make up the Island of Empty Eyes adventure path. This is based on the Pathfinder RPG adventure of the same name. The main goal for this expansion is to tame the island that you won and earn your seat on the Pirate’s Council. These scenarios will help you level up your characters and provide lots of new adventures to play.

For how to play, check out the base game review here.

This expansion has tons of great looking cards that are added to the base game. As with the previous sets, the artwork on these cards is phenomenal, most of which looks like it’s been ripped right from the pages of the Pathfinder source material. There are cards of many different types that add a whole lot of amazing adventures. There are also lots of new weapons and armor including the Spellsword. Of course the best part is the extremely rare loot cards. All of these cards add to the experience and bring the pirate theme to life even more. The cards are really great quality and look great. There is so much goodness included in the package that you’ll be busy for awhile.

There is no rulebook included with this expansion. All rules needed to play are provided in the base game.

Just like the previous Adventure decks, this one has so much new stuff that will really draw you deep into the pirate goodness. It follows along with the original RPG adventure of the same name. This adds a lot to the base game and continues to lead your heroes along the path of glory. It’s really exciting and challenging at the same time. There are some really great new locations that will really make for some interesting adventures. The villains are quite nasty and will make you despise them quite a bit. This is a great addition to an already great game. It adds hours of enjoyment and will level those characters up. After all, you’ve still got 2 more adventure paths to finish the series. This one will help you to get prepared for those later encounters. I really like this one quite a bit.

The Island of Empty Eyes Adventure Deck is a superb addition to an always changing and ever expanding game. The customization in this game is awesome and this deck adds lots of new stuff to power up your characters. It’s a lot of fun and it adds even more fun for fans of the base game. I love the artwork and the theme is great, especially for fans of all things pirate related. I highly recommend picking this up if you’ve already gotten the first 3 adventure decks. If not, go back and get them and play through them first. Once you’ve done that, grab this one and enjoy all the goodness of exploring the island. If you like the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, than you’ll love this. It’s a great addition and will really liven up your base game. It’s a must have.
