The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Skull & Shackles- From Hell’s Heart Adventure Deck is published by Paizo Publishing. It adds tons of new weapons, villains, monsters and henchmen. It also adds 5 new scenarios that make up the From Hell’s Heart adventure path. This is based on the Pathfinder RPG adventure of the same name. The main idea behind this set is that there is an invading armada that is trying to control the island. It’s your job to defend it with everything you have. If the player character’s are successful, they will take over as the head of the pirate council as the Hurricane King. These scenarios will help you level up your characters and provide lots of new adventures to play.

For how to play, check out the base game review here.

COMPONENTS
This expansion adds approximately 110 new cards to the base game. As with previous adventure sets, the artwork looks really nice. It has a lot of the feel and look of the Pathfinder RPG itself, almost like it was ripped right off the pages of the adventure. There are lots of new cards of many different types that will add tons of enjoyment to the game. There are lots of great new weapons including the enervating pistol. There are some devilishly cool new henchmen like the Wereshark Pirate and the Drowning Devil. Awesome new monsters like the Seaweed Siren. Every card in this set brings the setting to life. Each one of them has a great look and feel. There are lots of great new ways to help you customize your characters even further. There’s just not a lot of new allies or armors with this one. Regardless, I’m really happy with everything that you get.

RULEBOOK
There is no rulebook included with this expansion. All rules needed to play are provided in the base game.

GAMEPLAY
Just like the earlier Adventure decks, this one has plenty of new stuff to keep you playing for hours and hours. The new locations are really interesting and the challenges are entertaining and difficult. There are plenty of new creatures and villains to pit your heroes against. Each new scenario draws you closer and closer to the end game and the conclusion of this great setting. I’d say that this is a really nice way to tie up all the lose ends from the previous decks. It is a really great addition to the game and completes this chapter of Pathfinder lore quite well. I really enjoy it.

OVERALL
The From Hell’s Heart Adventure Deck is a great addition to a an already amazing game full of customization to the max. It is really fun and adds tons of new cards and enjoyment for fans of the Skull & Shackles card game. I really love the artwork and fell that once again the theme really shines through. Pirate fans will enjoy this penultimate set for the game. I highly recommend picking up this set to add to your Skull & Shackles game. Of course, you already knew that I was gonna say that. In any case, before playing this you should get the previous sets and play through them first. Fans of Pathfinder or the Pathfinder card game will absolutely adore this set and will get sucked into the pirate theme. This is a great addition to the game and one that you will be happy to have. It’s really great and truly awesome.
