Meeple Realty’s The Card RV Product Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to check out a product from Meeple Realty. That product was The Card RV. I received it in a white bubble wrap envelope. Inside I found a bundle of thin wooden sheets taped between two thick pieces of cardboard. After cutting the 4 pieces of tape on each side I found a couple pieces of paper with instructions for assembling the organizer.

Now then, let me explain exactly what the product is and what it does. First off, this is for any of the LCG games such as Android Netrunner: The Card Game, Star Wars: The Card Game, Warhammer Invasion: The Card Game, etc… This particular one will be used for Star Wars: The Card Game. A game that I’ve played once but haven’t really added anything to, at least not yet. In any event, this organizer, when it’s assembled will sort and organize all the many different varieties of cards that come with the game. The best part is that this works with sleeved cards. Meeple Realty also has an organizer that works for the unsleeved cards called The Card Trailer. It’s the same thing more or less. This one just has wider lanes to accomodate the card sleeves. This organizer is a thin wooden organizer that fits into any of the original LCG game box, in this case my Star Wars: The Card Game box. There will be plenty of extra room for adding additional Force Packs or whatever card packs that your LCG is expanded with. This looks really great and everything fits nicely inside with plenty of extra room. So, with all that said, let’s take a look at what all you get and the basic assembly of this item. We start with several thin wooden sheets that need to be punched out.

So here’s a basic overview of the assembly process. Of course, if you want the exact instructions, you can always just read the instructions that come with your organizer. First off what you’re gonna do is take the large bottom piece and place the two small comb looking pieces into the middle sections. See below.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to place the two long middle pieces into the bottom piece and interlocking with the two small comb pieces. See below.

Now you will take the two side pieces and and attach these along with the top and bottom pieces to form the outer sides. See below.

Now you form the small pieces boxes by placing the two small side pieces and the front and back pieces together with the bottom piece. The lid slides in with a small hole to be able to pull it open with. You’ll have to do this twice. See below.

All that’s left now is to put the small boxes inside the middle section of the insert on their sides and then place the many card dividers as you see fit and you’re finished. Here’s what the finished product will look like.

Here’s a better look at how the small boxes hold all your smaller tokens and pieces.

Finally, here’s everything put together with cards and everything. As you can see, there’s PLENTY of room left to add a lot more cards. This thing will hold a lot of stuff.

Normally in this section I would describe all the different parts and pieces of the game. In this case, I will simply describe the packaging and the item itself. As i described earlier, everything came in a thick white bubble wrap envelope. It was really well packaged and pretty darn secure. Thanks to the thick cardboard pieces taped on the outside of the wooden sheets, nothing was out of place and everything was still together when I opened the package. The pieces are fairly easily removed from the framework of the thin wooden sheets. As you can tell from the pictures above the Meeple Realty logo is right in the middle of the organizer. It’s a really nice touch that looks really great and adds character to the organizer. The wood is really sturdy and it looks really great when all the pieces are put together and are placed inside the box. The instructions recommend that you have a hobby knife, hammer, sandpaper and glue. These are the only thing that you might need to provide to put it together with. However, I didn’t find any need for any of this as everything went together really well and without any problems. Component wise, the organizer looks great.

Instead of a rule book, you will get a sheet with labeled parts and a sheet of instructions. I had absolutely no problem understanding what part was what and how to put everything together. Everything was extremely easy to understand and as straight forward as could be. As you can probably tell from my instructions above, there’s not a lot that has to be done. It’s super simple. Trust me, anyone can put one of these together.

Usually in this space I would give my thoughts on how the game is played. Instead, since this is an organizer, I’ll explain the process of how I put everything together. As I’ve stated earlier, it was extremely easy. Everything fit together nicely and were no problems. As a matter of fact, it only took about 10 minutes to put together. As you can tell from the pictures, everything looks extremely nice inside the box and there’s still plenty of room for more expansions. At the moment, I only have the base set for the Star Wars card game but I plan to add more soon. That’s great since I now have the room to put them all together into one box thanks to this organizer. There’s not much weight added to the game box with everything placed inside. The lid does seem to have a small problem closing as the small boxes in the middle cause it to rise up a bit, especially with the rule book tossed in as well. I do like how easily the dividers can be moved so that things can be set up as you want them to be. It makes it easy to seperated the different card types. I really like the look of the organizer and find it to be really well made. It adds strength to the game box and easy access to everything you need. I’m really impressed with the end results.

The Card RV from Meeple Realty is a well designed and great looking organizer that is great for organizing your LCGs. I really like how easy it was to put together and found that it didn’t take very much time at all. For those players that don’t sleeve their cards, there’s even a version for you that is very similar to this called The Card Trailer. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has one of the Fantasy Flight LCGs and are looking to sleeve their cards. The product looks great and has plenty of room for lots of expansion packs. I would say that this is well worth the money. The only concern that I had was that the component boxes in the middle tend to make the game box lid rise up just a bit so that it doesn’t close all the way down. Other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever. Meeple Realty is a Grade A group of folks that will definitely take care of you. They have great customer service. You will not be disappointed in your purchase.
